Port of Den Helder is the pitstop port for logistics services for offshore maintenance and supply activities at (the southern part of) the North Sea. Port of Den Helder has been the most important offshore operations and maintenance hub for over 40 years. This success is due to its high quality and fast service, convenient location and short sailing times to offshore installations. Thanks to facilities for fast and efficient turnaround times, the port can offer excellent transport and logistical support in the North Sea. Port of Den Helder serves approximately 95 per cent of all offshore platforms in the Dutch North Sea waters, in addition to various British platforms. Moreover, Den Helder is ideally situated for sustainable energy projects such as offshore wind.
The port’s logistics infrastructure – including Den Helder Airport, one of the largest helicopter airports in North-West Europe – and its hinterland connections make the port, with comprehensive technical facilities, the home base for a growing number of offshore and energy-related companies.

The Netherlands has few business locations with quayside access. Growing market demand for port-based commercial estates has led to the development of Kooyhaven. With a direct link to the open sea, large plot sizes, and ample availability, Kooyhaven is the ultimate answer to market demand. One unique selling point that makes Kooyhaven very attractive to organisations is that it is being developed as an all-electric business park close to the sea.
The blue economy starts here!
Port of Den Helder acts as a true partner to its customers. We think and act based on customer experience and put our customers first. We embrace new business, innovation, and green solutions, and we look forward to welcoming you to Kooyhaven.
The link with Kooypunt offers a number of advantages: the presence of companies operating in the same dynamic sector creates an overall solid position. Kooyhaven serves as an additional green, sustainable commercial estate with plots featuring dedicated quaysides and quaysides intended for general use.
Offshore energy, maritime businesses, and sustainable innovation and circularity projects are increasingly establishing themselves in this area, and for good reason. The favourable geographical location offers numerous possibilities, together with the presence of knowledge institutes and educational establishments focusing on maritime technology and research. The wide range of businesses from the civilian and maritime sectors makes this a perfect location for long-term cooperation and healthy competition. In total, approximately 50 hectares of land will be released. To summarise: we have very attractive plots available at Kooyhaven and we are more than happy to tell you all about them.
Unique characteristics:
• Immediately adjacent to the North Holland Canal
• Multifunctional site
• Quaysides for both private and general use

Oostoever is a unique business location where energy from the sea comes ashore. Its current and future focus is on energy development, sustainability and energy landfall. The site is located along the Noordhollandsch Kanaal and is accessible by water via the Oostoever quay. It is connected to the Dutch gas infrastructure and will also be linked to the Netherlands Hydrogen Network in the future.
The business park is located close to the port, the airport and the other two Port of Den Helder business locations: Kooypunt and Kooyhaven. A range of energy companies are already active at these sites, creating strong synergies with the activities at Oostoever.
In addition to its inland waterway connections, Oostoever is also easily accessible by road. It is a 30-minute drive from Agriport and approximately one hour from Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport.
