In the maritime sector, traditionally a male-dominated field, we are happy to see more and more women finding their place. This is a development that we at Port of Den Helder wholeheartedly support.

Within Port of Den Helder itself, the number of women is also growing. Where previously there were seven women, we have welcomed two new female colleagues since March 1, 2026: a Port Officer and a Policy Assistant. Our team now counts nine women—a great step that shows talent and passion for the port know no boundaries.

Today, we honor all women working in and around the port: in the office, on the quay, at sea, and in technical roles. Together, we are building a strong and future-proof maritime sector.
