The next North Sea Offshore event is here!

North Sea Offshore (NSO) in collaboration with Energy Reinvented Community (ERC).
Beyond Borders: Bringing Offshore Energy Ashore.

And this time organized together with the Energy Reinvented Community. This event is the second in a series of three events within the overall 2021 annual theme of BEYOND BORDERS of the Energy Reinvented Community. In three events they will address opportunities, spark ideas and discuss solutions that will help us to think beyond borders and seize the opportunities that are key to accelerating the energy transition together.

We kindly invite you to participate in our (virtual) next event on 8 June 2021 broadcasted from the studio Theater De Kampanje in Den Helder. Which will focus on the challenges of bringing offshore wind energy to shore, which has triggered the discussion on the role of molecules, in particular hydrogen as an attractive energy carrier for the future. We have invited distinguished presenters to share their visions on the future of offshore energy and a potential role of hydrogen.

09:00 - 16:15
Deadline for registration ends on Friday 4 June 2021.
In this event we will start in the morning with the latest status of our working groups, which you can join online. The working groups Offshore Energy, Digital Energy, Community Engagement, Heat Transition and CCUS.

In the afternoon, the plenary session will be opened by Jacoba BolderheijCEO Port of Den Helder and Ton de JongManaging Director TNO Energy Transition.
Kees van LeunManaging Director Guidehouse will set the scene by presenting the impact of the energy transition at the North Sea and the future offshore energy system.
Den Helder is a key location for the transport of natural gas from the North Sea to shore with 3 major trunklines coming ashore. In the future these pipelines may also transport hydrogen or CO2. Rene Genee, Project Director H2Gateway will present the H2Gateway project, aiming at the production of blue hydrogen from natural gas and storing the CO2 in the depleted gas fields.

In our Digital Energy working group is the idea developed to optimize the offshore logistic supply chain the goal to reduce the CO2 footprint by using for e.g. innovative digital technology, drones, intelligent environmental ships, smart harbors e.g. This ideas is embraced by Ontwikkelingsbedrijf Noord-Holland Noord, METIP and DroneQ. Together with our ERC members developed into a real program and cooperation. Which we will official launch during our upcoming event.

If you want to get an expert view on offshore energy transport by means of electrons or molecules, and whether the asset owners are interested to take a role in the transition, then make sure you do not miss the panel discussion.

Lex de GrootManaging Director of Neptune EnergyAlan Croes, Head of System Outlook of TenneT and Hans CoenenDirector Strategy of Gasunie will discuss the role of molecules in transport, potential reuse of existing infrastructure and the position of Den Helder in the future energy system.

Marcelien Bos – de Koning will reflect on the discussion and her first year as the Major of the North Sea.

After the reflection, we will hear the view of Bart OberinkHead of Offshore Development Central Europe RWE on the development of offshore hydrogen production and the importance for future mega projects such as Aquaventus or NortH2.

Your moderator for this event will be Jan Douwe Kroeske, well known presenter, voice of RTL-Z and owner of Double2.
Make sure to sign up to this event and head over to our LinkedIn page and FORUM (membership required) to start the discussion on this topic!

This year, North Sea Offshore has partnered with the Energy Reinvented Community. The application is done through the online platform of the Energy Reinvented Community. To be able to apply, you must first become a member of the Community. This is free and you can simply cancel your membership after NSO 2021 should the network not suit you.

These are the steps you need to follow:

Step 1 Become a member of the Energy Reinvented Community:

Step 2 Register for the exclusive event
