BEYOND BORDERS: BRINGING OFFSHORE ENERGY ASHORE. TUESDAY, 8 JUNE 2021 09:00 - 16:15 Deadline for registration ends on Friday 4 June 2021. In this event we will start in the morning with the latest status of our working groups, which you can join online. The working groups Offshore Energy, Digital Energy, Community Engagement, Heat Transition and CCUS.
In the afternoon, the plenary session will be opened by Jacoba Bolderheij, CEO Port of Den Helder and Ton de Jong, Managing Director TNO Energy Transition. Kees van Leun, Managing Director Guidehouse will set the scene by presenting the impact of the energy transition at the North Sea and the future offshore energy system. Den Helder is a key location for the transport of natural gas from the North Sea to shore with 3 major trunklines coming ashore. In the future these pipelines may also transport hydrogen or CO2. Rene Genee, Project Director H2Gateway will present the H2Gateway project, aiming at the production of blue hydrogen from natural gas and storing the CO2 in the depleted gas fields.
In our Digital Energy working group is the idea developed to optimize the offshore logistic supply chain the goal to reduce the CO2 footprint by using for e.g. innovative digital technology, drones, intelligent environmental ships, smart harbors e.g. This ideas is embraced by Ontwikkelingsbedrijf Noord-Holland Noord, METIP and DroneQ. Together with our ERC members developed into a real program and cooperation. Which we will official launch during our upcoming event.
If you want to get an expert view on offshore energy transport by means of electrons or molecules, and whether the asset owners are interested to take a role in the transition, then make sure you do not miss the panel discussion.
Lex de Groot, Managing Director of Neptune Energy, Alan Croes, Head of System Outlook of TenneT and Hans Coenen, Director Strategy of Gasunie will discuss the role of molecules in transport, potential reuse of existing infrastructure and the position of Den Helder in the future energy system.
Marcelien Bos – de Koning will reflect on the discussion and her first year as the Major of the North Sea.
After the reflection, we will hear the view of Bart Oberink, Head of Offshore Development Central Europe RWE on the development of offshore hydrogen production and the importance for future mega projects such as Aquaventus or NortH2.
Your moderator for this event will be Jan Douwe Kroeske, well known presenter, voice of RTL-Z and owner of Double2. Make sure to sign up to this event and head over to our LinkedIn page and FORUM (membership required) to start the discussion on this topic!
